    Diagnostics

What should you do when you see your automobile's check engine light blink to life? Whatever you do, don't just disregard it.  Our qualified mobile mechanics can perform a vehicle diagnosis and determine your car's problem and then make the necessary repairs. Our technicians will evaluate your vehicle by connecting a diagnostic scanner to your car's ECU or ECM (engine control unit or module) and make sure every vehicle system is examined and tested until the problem is found, saving you time and money.

Your car's ECU is essentially an onboard computer that keeps track of the efficiency of an engine's fuel injectors, RPM's, and a wide range of other processes needed to keep your car running. In the event of an issue that's outside of preset parameters in the ECU, it will activate your "check engine light" as well as keep a maintenance code that will narrow down the suspected problem in its memory for collection by a specialist.  A technician will use that code along with many years of auto repair experience to zero in on your precise car problem.

    Engine Repairs

For all under-the-hood issues you might encounter, you can count on Long Beach Mobile Mechanic to make the necessary engine repairs to get you back on the road fast.  We handle all engine repair issues like timing chains and belts, intake and exhaust manifold leaks, fuel injection problems, water pump failings, valve adjustments, serpentine belt replacements, tune-ups, ignition problems, sensors and control modules, oil changes, and much more.

    Auto Electric

The battery is the foundation of your vehicle's electric system. It supplies the electrical current that permits the automobile to start and powers the various other elements.  Those other elements include the ignition as well as the fuel system, and accessory items in the car or truck.

The battery provides the car's power, the starter is what starts the engine. It is attached to the ignition switch (your key switch).  Receiving a surge of energy from the battery, the starter rotates the flywheel, which turns the crankshaft, which moves the pistons of the engine.

All of these electrical parts are connected to the battery via cables, which conducts electrical current. The cables differ in thickness depending upon their role within the electrical system. They have to be the proper dimension in order to handle the quantity of current transferred or they can get too hot, blow a fuse, or cause the cable to melt.

The alternator keeps the battery filled with electrical charge and also keeps the electric system running, yet it isn't essential for the automobile to start.

Most of the systems of your vehicle are powered by the electrical system as well. It significantly allows the lights to work as well as the windshield wipers and other critical things important for safe travels.  Other crucial electric assets consist of the speedometer as well as the dash panel gauges (fuel gauge, temperature scale), indoor lights, and heating and air conditioning.

    Radiator and Hoses

A vehicle's cooling system is largely dependent on the radiator and coolant hoses to cool and circulate coolant through the internal combustion engine to keep it at the proper operating temperature.  Leaks in the cooling system need to be repaired immediately so that overheating doesn't happen.  If an engine gets too hot, head gaskets can blow and other internal engine damage can occur.  Call us if you find coolant leaking from your car or truck or if any of your warning lights come on.  Besides the radiator and coolant hoses, LBMM will also handle problems due to failed water pumps, cooling fans, bad thermostats, and even cooling system flushes.

I called Long Beach Mobile Mechanic when my car wouldn't start and had them come out to do a diagnostic check on my SAAB. They were nice and professional and understood that I wanted to do the repairs myself and weren't pushy.  After they finished they went ahead and gave me a price to replace the alternator and it was such a good deal I just went ahead and had them do it.  Everything went smoothly.  I'll call them again if I have problems.

So glad we found Long Beach Mobile Mechanic! They were prompt, friendly, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. We've called them twice now for repairs.  The first one was to replace a starter in my Lexus RX350 and just yesterday we called them because a check engine light on my daughter's Honda Accord came on.  They checked it out and said it was an Oxygen sensor.  They replaced it and retested it and all is good.  We're happy with their service and keep their number in our phones.

My wife was having brake issues in her Chevy Traverse and Long Beach Mobile Mechanic had a tech come out and do a brake job at our house.  It worked out well as my wife was able to work out of the house as our little ones (5 and 3) were napping.  She didn't want to take it to a shop with the kids in tow and have to wait in a waiting room with them for 2 hours and since we just moved here, we didn't have connections for a ride to the shop and then back when the brakes were done.  This worked out great.

    A/C Service

All Air Conditioning systems call for a refrigerant, such as R-134a. Your car's compressor, powered by the serpentine belt, compresses the cooling agent into a fluid, placing it right into a high-pressure state. This pressure requires the fluid out of the compressor through the AC assembly. Regardless of which of the systems your auto uses, the compressed refrigerant travels from the compressor to the condenser on the high-pressure side of the system to cool off before reaching the Air Conditioning evaporator core on the low-pressure side.

The condenser is like a little radiator where the Air Conditioner hoses come in contact with the outside air, which takes in warmth from the fluid inside before it gets to the Air Conditioner in-line filter, which eliminates debris that could contaminate the system. The currently cooled refrigerant moves to the low-pressure side of the system with either the expansion valve or the orifice tube, depending upon which system you have. There it goes through the evaporator core in a gaseous state, permitting the cooling agent to take in heat from the air that passes through the evaporator fins. This leaves the cabin with cool air while the warm refrigerant makes its way back to the compressor.

    Steering & Suspension

The steering system and suspension system consisting of shock absorbers and struts are two different systems that work in tandem to keep your auto under control. The suspension system supports the weight of your vehicle, supplies a smooth ride as well as develops secure roadway control and handling as well as drivability.

Shocks and struts both dampen movement from your car's springs. Without the shocks and struts, after striking a bump, the springs would be unchecked and your auto would bounce up and down.
